The first of my TK-Maxx bargains. The best thing is, I’ve never heard of this company before.
So a little bit about them. They’re an American company based in Huntingdon Beach, California. They don’t just do beard oils, as they’re part of the Home & Body Company, who sell various home and lifestyle products.
I’m guessing Harper + Lee is a sub brand. The have, as far as I could see, two different beard oils available; white musk and amber wood. They’re both available from Hudson Reginald, ‘architects and curators of luxury life accessories’. Basically, it’s full of pretentious shit. You know when people think something which high monetary value is better than something with low monetary value, when in reality it really doesn’t matter? They’d shop here. Although some of the stuff is hella cool, like this Alexander McQueen pocket square.
Anyways, back to the beard oil!
It was £5.99 for a 59ml beard oil, which is pretty decent. It has one of them weird pippettes which doesn’t hold onto the oil very well so be prepared to make a mess. I’ve noticed a few American company’s use this style. Ones like these:
Bloody annoying.
The key ingredients are safflower oil, cotton seed oil, almond oil, argan oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil and orange oil. The result is a clean scent with a subtle hint of citrus. The overall scent is subtle and not overpowering like some other beard oils can be. I’m not sure where amber wood comes from as there isn’t a woody scent to it.
To conclude, a decent beard oil, especially for the price.
This oil get’s the Amrityville award for Best Foreign Beard Oil
